In this workshop, Bridget and Simon let us show us about recycling and restoration.

This is one of my favorite slides. "Risk is always present, creative practice and emotions of hope meet in risk and develop together." This phrase will not only soothe me when I am making something without my plan but also make me better at dealing with frustrations in my life.

We were divided into 5 teams, Using lots of little questions to think about different products' functions and think about what parts are repairable and disassembly.
Bridget and Simon gave us an envelope with fabric to be mended and I mended one hole as per the table and filled another small hole with felt modeled on Yayoi Kusama's dots.
Finally, we do the restoration of what we brought with us that needs to be restored.
Between restoration and re-creation, I chose to recreate by wrapping treated coconut shells around wool. It was turned into a dried flower container.
Reflective Statement
To sum up this lesson, I think I will be more careful when considering my choice of materials. Just like the Starbucks coffee cups, it is difficult to separate plastic from paper even if we recycle our waste. In the context of protecting the environment, the choice of materials and how sustainable they are becomes a subject for designers.
